Linda Drive Extension and Linda/Plainview/LeSueur Stormwater Improvements
The extension of Linda Drive to intersect with Parkway Avenue (CSAH 17) is necessary to accomplish the following goals:
- Adding a secondary connection between Parkway Avenue (CSAH 17) and LeSueur Drive
- Balancing the traffic between Plainview Street and Linda Drive
- Reducing traffic levels on Plainview Street
- Providing an access point for development on the Atwood Property.
The construction of a proper stormwater outlet and pond to convey stormwater drainage from the Linda/Plainview/LeSueur watershed is necessary to accomplish the following goals:
- Eliminate flooding on the Atwood and Elementary School property
- Provide a proper outlet for stormwater runoff from all properties within the watershed
- Properly treat stormwater runoff prior to discharge to the wetland
- Provide an outlet for sump pump discharge from homes along Plainview Street
The proposed Linda Drive extension improvements include the construction of a bituminous surfaced, urban section street with sidewalk along the east side, from the end of the existing Linda Drive to Parkway Avenue (CSAH 17). Construction along the Linda Drive extension would also include sanitary sewer and water stubs to service a proposed development as well as storm sewer to provide drainage along the street.
The proposed Linda/Plainview/LeSueur stormwater improvements would include the construction of storm sewer to connect the existing storm sewer along Plainview Street to the existing storm sewer along Parkway Avenue (CSAH 17). The project would also include the construction of a stormwater pond to reduce peak flow rates and treat the stormwater prior to discharge to the wetland west of the new City Hall.
The estimated project costs are:
